About RYAA

RYAA is a faith-based youth sports organization that seeks to develop the character, families, and faith of the communities of East Palo Alto and east Menlo Park. We do that by creating programs that allow children to learn and play a sport, while also learning about the Bible, faith in God, and good character. The key to the program is you, a caring adult that is willing to dedicate time and impart wisdom to the youth of our community.

Description

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the following:

• Using our database to recruit volunteers for specific functions as required.
• Working with the Executive Director to communicate volunteer responsibilities.
• Resolving disputes with Volunteers that are not coaches or referees.
• Working with the Executive Director to plan and execute volunteer appreciation activities.

The Coach and Referee Coordinators will manage the day-to-day work with the coaches and referees. You will be responsible for helping to manage the rest of the volunteers.

To help you be successful, we will provide you with:

• The direct support of the Executive Director,
• Communication systems for communicating with referees, coaches, and other volunteers.
• Equipment and materials as needed.
  

Requirements

The things you need to be the Volunteer Coordinator in RYAA are:

• A positive attitude when working with parents, coaches and children.
• Fantastic communication and organization skills.
• A commitment to the goals of the RYAA.
  

Commitment

Estimated Weekly Time Commitment: 3 hours

The fall soccer season begins in late August and ends the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Games are on Saturdays and last between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on the age. Your time will generally be spent during the week, communicating with volunteers and recruiting new ones.
