Special Event Organizer
Thank you for considering being a Special Event Organizer for RYAA Soccer. We will strive to make your experience with RYAA incredibly fun, successful and rewarding.
About RYAA
RYAA is a faith-based youth sports organization that seeks to develop the character, families, and faith of the communities of East Palo Alto and east Menlo Park. We do that by creating programs that allow children to learn and play a sport, while also learning about the Bible, faith in God, and good character. The key to the program is you, a caring adult that is willing to dedicate time and impart wisdom to the youth of our community.
Description
One goal of ours is to make Saturdays incredibly special and fun. We would like to have additional activity at the Cesar Chavez site to add to the atmosphere of the whole event. A Special Event Organizer would take charge of an event on a particular Saturday, planning and executing the event from beginning to end. This would be a good activitiy for a fellowship, home group or Bible Study. Possibilities include:
- Organizing an alternate sport activity, like tennis, basketball or volleyball during game day. We have access to facilities for all of these sports.
- Organizing a fun soccer-based contest, like a juggling contest, 3 v 3 mini tournament, or soccer golf competition with prizes.
- Getting a local professional or college sport team to make an appearance, whether or not its a soccer team.
- Live entertainment, like music, or a performing artist like a juggler, ball handler, magician, etc.
Requirements
The things you need to be the Volunteer Coordinator in RYAA are:
- A positive attitude when working with parents, coaches and children.
- A self-starter.
- Good communication and organization skills.
Commitment
Estimated Weekly Time Commitment: 2-3 hours up until the event, then some follow up time as well to thank the participants and volunteers
