Sequoia Union High School District: Closing the Achievement Gap Through Parent Involvement
The Parent Involvement Program continues to focus on closing the achievement gap for students from Ravenswood and Redwood City feeder schools.
Under development is a comprehensive Transition to High School Plan: it includes ongoing outreach to these students and their families from 6th grade through high school. It began last year with three Parent Information Nights and ten student assemblies held in East Palo Alto.
During 2008-09 the District and schools will intensify and refine their outreach activities to all parents while focusing on families who are more difficult to reach and families with language barriers.
