The East Palo Alto Center for Community Media exists to further the vision of an East Palo Alto that is informed, connected, involved, secure and empowered. The Center provides East Palo Alto residents with up-to-date news and information affecting their community.

As a hub of communications for East Palo Alto, the EPA Center operates EPA Today; the only local newspaper; maintains the www.epatoday.org web site; and is establishing the East Palo Alto Media Annex.

The new media outlets that the EPA Center has created represent a communications breakthrough for the East Palo Alto community, since the newspaper, the television office and the website will provide area residents with:

  • powerful communication tools that they can use to increase their access to information.
  • educational and informational tools to further civic awareness and citizen involvement.
  • a mentoring program to teach journalism skills to interested community members.
  • an opportunity to present to neighboring communities many of the positive, productive activities and events taking place in their city.
  • media forums that support ongoing dialogues about the issues, personalities and events shaping local, state and national policies.
  • a forum that local businesses can use to publicize their products and services.

The media outlets that the EPA Center is creating will provide news and information to area residents the way no other media sources have in the past. Please browse our web site to find out more about the EPA Center, its media outlets and some of its exciting projects.
