The Quest Learning Center is a free literacy-based tutoring program for 3rd-12th graders. Our core group of students are 3rd-5th graders from the Ravenswood City School District who are required to attend a minimum of 3 days per week and are helped in the Quest area of the library; student-to-tutor ratios are 5:1 or better. Our 6th-12th graders are drop-in students who receive assistance on an as-needed basis in other areas of the library; student-to-tutor ratios are 3:1 or better.

3rd-5th graders participate in literacy enrichment, homework assistance, academic skill-building activities, mentoring, and guidance. Quest offers field trips, special events, and other incentives for students who work hard on completing their homework assignments, strive to fulfill their educational goals, and attend Quest regularly. Parent workshops are also provided to help families assist their children with academics and to improve communication with teachers and school administrators. Quest is staffed by a full-time Director, part-time Tutor Supervisors, part-time Tutors/Mentors, and a corps of dedicated Volunteers. The Quest team works closely with students, their families, and their classroom teachers to improve their mastery of all school subjects, especially English and Math.  We help students develop self-confidence and become part of a creative, literate, and interested community of learners.
