Your donations do more than make this organization function. They are a vote of confidence and an encouragement. They say, "we are standing with you to repair broken families, to build character in our youth, and to encourage their faith."

How to Give Financially

You can donate online using a credit card by clicking below to go to our Razoo page. Razoo lets you easily set up automatic monthly donations, and the best part is that they do not charge any transaction fees. 100% of your donation through Razoo goes to us.

Another option we have is to donate using PayPal.

We are a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt organization, and all of your donations are tax-deductible. Our EIN is 20-4597060. You will receive a receipt acknowledging your donation, and a year-end record of your giving as well.

Donating Stock

Donating highly appreciated stock that you have held for more than a year can increase your tax benefits compared to donating cash. To donate stock, please contact us first so that we can be sure to acknowledge your donation with a receipt. There are two ways to donate:

Sending stock certificates. Contact us first and we can provide special mailers to use to send in your certificates.
Electronically transfering stock. Use the following information:

Some of the tax ramifications of donating stock are as follows:

If you transfer stock that you have held for less than a year, you can only deduct the cost basis of the stock (what you originally paid for the stock). In this case, it would be better to sell the stock first, then donate the cash proceeds.
If you transfer stock that you have held for more than a year, you can deduct the value of the stock on the day you transfer it. You also have an added benefit of not needing to pay capital gains tax on the stock. In this case, its more advantageous to transfer the shares directly to us.
If the stock has depreciated in value, it is likely that it will be better to sell the stock first so that you can deduct your loss on the stock.

Sponsorship Opportunities

There are many opportunities for you or your business to sponsor a team, or some aspect of the league. Here are just a few:

Soccer ball sponsor. Get your businesses logo on our soccer balls and provide every one of our players a ball. $2500 for 500 balls for the entire season. Deadline is end of May.
Uniform sponsor. Sponsor a team's uniforms and coaching equipment for $400, a division for $2400, or sponsor the whole league for $12,000.

Equipment Donations

If you would like to purchase equipment to donate to us, please contact us first. We have relationships with vendors that will allow you to purchase equipment at a discount. Here are some possible ideas for an equipment donation:

Purchase a team's uniforms: $250
Purchase balls for a team: $75
Purchase a coach's kit with a ball-bag, pump, first-aid kit, hat, shirt and book: $50

We anticipate that we will be hosting 40 teams this coming season.

Reporting Donations for Tax Purposes

If you donate property to us that is valued at more than $500, you will need to fill out form 8283 from the IRS.

If the value of the property you donate to us is valued by you at more than $5000, you may have to send it to us for our signature. We will also need to send you back form 8282 in this case. This provision does not apply to publicly traded stocks. There are also many special case rules for certain kinds of property, and whether the donation is coming from a corporation. More Creative Ways to Donate

Donating Cars, Trucks, Boats, Motorhomes and Other Vehicles

Do you have a vehicle that you no longer use? You can donate it to us, receive a tax deduction, and be rid of it hassle free! We have teamed up with Car Donation Services, Inc. to handle donations of vehicles. They are located in the Bay Area, and handle donations for many local organizations.

To donate, simply call them at 1-888-686-4483 and tell them you would like to donate to the RYAA in East Palo Alto. Or, fill out their online donation form at http://www.cardonationservices.com/.

Donating While Online Shopping

Do your regular shopping, and donate to RYAA at the same time! OneCause is a Web site and referral network that lets you automatically donate to RYAA when you shop at your favorite stores. Amazon.com, Dell, Lands’ End, MacMall, the Gap, and Nordstrom are just a few of the many partner companies that work with OneCause.
To get started, go to OneCause. The signup process is quick and easy. Once you sign up, login to OneCause, and then click on the store you want to shop at. OneCause will then be able to track your purchases and the donation will be automatic from there.

Buying Real Estate

Real estate agency Zane MacGregor & Co. will donate a portion of their commission to RYAA for any referrals we give them. Highly recommended. Located in Palo Alto, they specialize in peninsula area homes. Contact them at 650.323.5305.
